Q: How far do we have to sail to find Bluefin Tuna?
A: Usually we are within five miles from shore especially in Sept. – Oct. when the tuna are on the herring grounds.
Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?
A: We do require a deposit with a two-week notice of cancelling, however if the Captain cancels due to unsafe weather conditions there is a full refund of the deposit. We will do our best to reschedule your charter. (See cancelation policy for further details.)
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Just show up with your game face on! We will supply all bait and gear. We have rods and reels for our fighting chair or if you want we have lighter stand-up gear with a harness as well. A light lunch and refreshments are supplied. If you want to bring your own gear, you are more than welcome, but please contact for details on rigging regulations.
Q: What happens to the tuna when caught?
A: Our Bluefin tuna charters here on Prince Edward Island are on a catch and release basis, so we use barbless circle hooks as they keep the tuna as healthy as possible for release.
Q: What is the maximum number of people on a charter?
A: We can accommodate up to six people. The rate is for the boat not per person so it is the same price for one to six people.
If there is something we didn’t answer here for you, please contact us and we will do our best to inform you.
